Despite the hard concrete the shear and machine has no problems with the bridge. The Hitachi 870-3 from Democom on this project is the first 870-3 they bought. They now have 2 of them and are also for rental to other demoliton contractors. If it is high or heavy, Democom (http://www.democom.be) has the right machine and tool.

The Hitachi ZX 870-3 HRD modified by Kocurek is a really nice and good machine. If it works with demolition boom or short boom with big shears.

The big Mantovanibenne CR 80 concrete shear. It is now 2 months old. Has a weight of 8250 kg and an opening of 1.750 mm. With big concrete shear it is possible to demolish without vibrations and noise. It is a big benefit in stead of hamering. Especially when projects like bridge demolition have to be done in the night in urban areas.

The demolition goes realy good and fast. There is a separat water tank and spaying water for the dust.

In 2 hours, the half of the bridge is gone. Thanks to the big Hitachi and the big concrete shear. It shows that Democom not only is specialised in demolishing high buildings, but also heavy construtions and buildings.

Frequently the work stops. Because there pipes in the bridge, which are in the concrote of the deck, it was not sure of it is asbest. So they have to check frequently. And the result was: no asbestos.

In less then 3 hours, the right part of bridge is demolished. And with no noise. So the people in the neighbourhood had good sleep and night.

The Cat 345D from Heijmans changed from sorting grab to shear. Also they use for demolition concrete als Mantovanibenne equipment. The shear on the Cat 345D is in fact the same, but smaller then the CR 80. For 50 tons machines it is the CR 35.
